Hahei is a small coastal village on the Coromandel Peninsula, best known for Hahei Beach and the Cathedral Cove walk. Shopping in the village is deliberately low-key — that's part of what makes it special — but you'll find everything you need for a great beach day right here.

We're at 3/3 Grange Road, just a short walk from the beach. We've filled our little shop with beach gear, NZ-made gifts, coastal homewares, natural skincare, and artisan food and deli treats. Forgotten your beach towel? Need sunscreen? After a gift from a New Zealand maker? We've got you covered.

We're open every day from 9am–5pm over summer (closed Christmas Day), with shorter hours in winter. You can also shop with us online at covehahei.nz, with free NZ delivery on orders over $150.

Roadside stalls and local growers

One of the best things about shopping around Hahei is the roadside stalls. Keep an eye out as you drive in — there are loads of them selling fresh produce straight from the grower: avocados everywhere, lovely citrus, and whatever else is in season. Bring some cash or coins for the honesty boxes. We're super lucky to have so many beautiful growers in our area.

What else is in Hahei?

Hahei also has a general store and dairy for everyday essentials, a cafe, and a handful of places to stay. For a full supermarket shop, Whitianga is the nearest town, around 35 minutes away. New World or Woolworths Whitianga are your best bet for groceries.
