    Hahei is a small coastal village on the Coromandel Peninsula, best known for Hahei Beach and the Cathedral Cove walk. Shopping options in the village are deliberately low-key — that's part of what makes it special — but you'll find everything you need for a great beach day right here.

    Cove Beach Essentials

    The main retail store in Hahei is Cove Beach Essentials, located at 3/3 Grange Road — a short walk from the beach. Cove stocks a curated range of beach gear, NZ-made gifts, coastal homewares, natural skincare, artisan food and deli items. Whether you've forgotten your beach towel, need sunscreen, or want to pick up a gift from a New Zealand maker, Cove has you covered.

    Cove is open daily from 9am–4pm during the season. You can also shop online at covehahei.nz with free NZ delivery on orders over $150.

    What else is in Hahei?

    Alongside Cove, Hahei has a general store and dairy for everyday essentials, a cafe, and a handful of accommodation options. For a full supermarket shop, Whitianga is the nearest town at around 35 minutes away. New World or Woolworths Whitianga are your best bet for groceries.
