Creamy, buttery Pōhutukawa honey — a true New Zealand original, not found elsewhere.
One of New Zealand's most distinctive honeys, and one that most people have never tried. Pōhutukawa honey is made from the nectar of the pōhutukawa tree, New Zealand's iconic coastal Christmas tree, and it has a flavour unlike any other honey in the world: creamy, buttery, and delicately sweet, with a smooth texture that sets it apart from both mānuka and clover.
This 500g jar comes from 309 Honey's hives in the Coromandel Peninsula, where pōhutukawa trees line the coastline and flower in December and January. Raw and unpasteurised, so the natural enzymes and full flavour are completely intact.
Pōhutukawa honey isn't a wellness honey ‚it's a table honey in the truest sense. Exceptional on fresh bread, beautiful paired with cheese, and genuinely hard to find outside of New Zealand. If you're looking for a uniquely Kiwi food gift or a honey that will actually surprise someone, this is it.
Ideal for: NZ food gifts, cheese boards, toast and fresh bread, visitors wanting a taste of the Coromandel, honey lovers looking for something genuinely different.

MGO (methylglyoxal) is the naturally occurring compound that gives mānuka honey its distinctive properties, and its concentration is what determines the grade. A higher MGO number means a higher concentration and a more potent, intensely flavoured honey. All our honey is lab tested to verify the MGO rating on the label.
Keep it in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight — there's no need to refrigerate it. Stored this way, raw honey lasts a very long time thanks to its natural low moisture and acidity.
